Optical simulation of a square lattice of nano-pyramids of Al with square base

We consider a slab of Si with one surface being etched in the form of an array of nano-pyramids. Pyramids are then coated with a thick layer of Al. Light is incident from Si. We want to study enhancement of field intensity and parasitic absorption in Al.

Software Used


REMS is a frequency domain wave optics simulator. REMS solves Maxwell equations in frequency domain for both space and time variables. REMS is a heavily multi-threaded, stable and efficient implementation various formulations of Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis (RCWA), Fourier Modal Method (FMM), and the S-matrix algorithm.
